The Bangladesh Meteorological Department today (Sept 30) forecast light to moderate rain in most parts of the country.
"Light to moderate rain or thunderstorms, accompanied by temporary gusty winds, are likely to occur in many areas of Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions; in a few areas of Dhaka and Barishal divisions; and in one or two places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, and Khulna divisions, with moderately heavy falls in some regions," according to the 24-hour forecast starting at 9 a.m.
Day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country.
The monsoon trough extends through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and Assam, across northern Bangladesh, with one of its associated troughs reaching the North Bay. The monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over the North Bay.
The highest temperature in the country on Sunday was 36.2°C, recorded in Mongla, while the minimum temperature today was 24.4°C in Tetulia.
Sylhet recorded the highest rainfall in the last 24 hours, measuring 113 millimeters as of 6 a.m. today.
In Dhaka, the sun will set at 5:47 p.m. today and rise at 5:51 a.m. tomorrow.
