TANGAIL: Two Army personnel and three Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel were killed in a mortar shell blast in Ghatail upazila of the district on Wednesday noon.

The deceased were identified as Army’s senior warrant officers Manjur and Parvez, lance naik of BGB Mohammad Ali, sepoys Abu Sufian and Ekramul.

Fourteen others, who were injured, got admitted to Combine Military Hospital (CMH) in Ghatail cantonment. Later, seven of them were sent to CMH in Dhaka.

Ghatail Thana Officer-in-Charge Fazlul Kabir and Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the incident.
