Rape cases must be completed within 90 days, said Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul.
He made the remark at a press conference at the Law Ministry on Sunday (March 9).
The adviser said that proposals have been made to amend the Prevention of Violence Against Women and Children Act. These amendments will be finalized after discussions with stakeholders.
He said as part of the proposed changes, rape case investigations must be completed within 15 days, and investigating officers must finish their work within the set timeframe. Additionally, trials must be completed within 90 days.
