Mohammad Sufiur Rahman has been appointed as the special assistant to the chief adviser of the interim government, the Cabinet Division announced.

An official notification said he will have the rank and status of a state minister. As per the Rules of Business, 1996, he has been given executive authority over the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to support the adviser.

In this position, he will receive the salary, allowances, and other benefits that come with the post of a state minister.
