UN Secretary General António Guterres is scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh on Thursday evening for a four-day visit to assess the ongoing Rohingya crisis.
This marks Guterres's second visit to the country and aims to boost international support and renew global attention on the plight of the Rohingya people.
As part of his Ramadan solidarity visit, Guterres will visit Rohingya camps in Cox's Bazar alongside Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus.
On Friday, the two will attend an iftar gathering with over 100,000 Rohingya refugees.
The crisis has struggled to maintain global focus amid multiple international emergencies, with Shafiqul Alam, Yunus's press secretary, highlighting the overshadowing of the issue at a press conference.
