The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast light to moderate rain across much of the country, with heavier downpours likely in southern regions.

In its bulletin issued Monday morning, the BMD said rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are likely to occur at most places in Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions may also see rainfall at several locations.

The forecast further warned of moderately heavy to very heavy rainfall in parts of Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions.

Day temperatures may slightly decline in southern regions while remaining nearly unchanged in the rest of the country. Night temperatures are expected to stay stable nationwide.

The highest temperature recorded on Sunday was 35.8°C in Srimangal, while Sylhet recorded the lowest temperature this morning at 23.8°C.

Cox’s Bazar experienced the highest rainfall in the past 24 hours, with 146 millimeters recorded until 6:00 am today.

In Dhaka, the sun is expected to set at 6:50 pm today and rise at 5:17 am on Tuesday.
