Major held from phensidyl-carrying car in Sirajganj

SIRAJGANJ: An army major and his companion were held from a car carrying 780 bottles of Phensidyl syrup in the district’s Soydabad area early Friday, police said.

Bangabandhu Bridge West Thana police said,” Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided a Dhaka-bound Toyota car and detained two on board and seized 780 bottles of Phensidyl from the vehicle at about 1:30 am.”

The detained persons are Reza Shah Mohammad Zillullah and Abu Sadat Mohammad Milon.

Milon introduced himself as a contractor of Rajshahi University while Reza’s ID card shows him as an army major.  

Sirajganj police super Mosharraf Hossain told banglanews24.com.bd,” One of the detained persons was handed over to Military Police on Friday morning.”

Sirajganj additional police super Mohammad Delwar Hossain Sayedee confirmed Reza as a major.

A case was lodged with the West Thana Police of Bangabandhu Bridge and Milon was sent to jail.
