SHARIATPUR: Two siblings were reportedly drowned to death at Charmohishkandi village in Gosairhat upazila Monday night.

The deceased were identified as Nirab, 5, and Rajani, 3, children of Faisal Sardar.

Gosairhat thana police recovered the bodies from a water body Tuesday morning.

Police and villagers suspect the children might have been killed following previous enmity.

Shariatpur Police Super AKM Shahidur Rahman, Gosairhat thana Officer-in-Charge Md. Ekram Ali and other police officers visited the spot.

Police, however, held the parents of the victims for interrogation.

The bodies were sent to Shariatpur Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
