DHAKA: The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rokib Uddin Ahmad hinted that the Election Commission would not launch any initiatives to eradicate the ongoing political bizarre.
The CEC came up with the disclosure while talking with reporters after a meeting with visiting EU delegates on Wednesday.
Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad said: “Political parties are responsible for making a level playing ground and its not EC’s responsibility as it would take part on the game only as a referee or umpire.”
While answering the quarries on any guidance or prescription from EU—he affirmed EC’s stern position on holding the next general polls as free, fair and unbiased manners.
He said, “They have no rights to prescribe or guide but as a well-wisher we give importance countries observers’ views as like as the EU because EC wants to hold election with participation of all.”
