DHAKA: More than 300 Eid jamaat (congregations) of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, one of the two biggest religious festivals of Muslims, is set to be held in the capital on Wednesday.
Dhaka City Corporation South and North separately arranged these congregations at different venues and mosques of the city.
The main jamaat of Eid-ul-Azha festival in the city will be held at the National Eidgah on the High Court premises at 8:30am on the day.
In case of inclement weather, the main Eid jamat will be held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque at 9:00am instead of the National Eidgah.
Sufficient security measures have already been taken at National Eidgah, sources said.
The national mosque, Baitul Mokarram, will host five Eid jamaats at 7:00am, 8:00am, 9:00am, 10:00am and 11:00am.
An Eid Jamaat will also be held at South Plaza of Sangsad Bhaban at 8.30 am, where parliament members and other officials are expected to join.
Another Eid congregation of Bangladesh Jamayate Ahlehadis will be held at central playground of Dhaka University at 8:00am and in case of inclement weather it will be held Baro Bhat Mosque on Lalbagh Road at 8:00am and 9:00am.
