DHAKA: Public Works Department and Dhaka City Corporation have, under joint efforts, completed arrangement of the National Eidgah for smooth holding of Eid congregation.
One of the biggest religious festivals of the Muslims, Eid-ul-Azha, will be celebrated in Bangladesh on Wednesday.
State minister for local government Jahangir Kabir Nanak along with Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Benazir Ahmed and law enforcing officials visited the National Eidgah on Tuesday and expressed satisfaction over the preparations and security measures.
The main Eid jamaat (congregation) of the holy Eid-ul-Azha will be held at the National Eidgah on the Supreme Court premises in the city, with national leaders in the forefront.
President Abdul Hamid Advocate, Cabinet Members, MPs, the Chief Justice and Justices of the Supreme Court, political leaders, diplomats from different countries in Bangladesh and high officials of the government would line up beside the commoners at the National Eidgah.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police has already taken the responsibility of maintaining security of the Eidgah and adjacent area, sources said.
