DHAKA: Dhaka City Corporation north and south have been taken initiatives in waste management and announced to sweep-up wastes of sacrificial animals of Eid-ul-Azha within 48 hours.

State minister for local government Jahangir Kabir Nanak along with Dhaka City Corporation (south) Commissioner Nazmul Islam came up with the announcement while visiting National Eidgah ground on Tuesday.

The Minister said, “A total of 9000 workers will work to clean up wastes from the city and several monitoring cells has been initiated for a better management.”  

He also urged city dwellers to dump wastes in DCC directed garbage spots.
