DHAKA: Dhaka City Corporations both North and South have managed to clean 40 percent of wastes of sacrificial animals of Eid-ul-Azha so far and expected to clean the city totally within next 24-hour.
DCC officials, responsible for the special wastes management drive, confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Earlier, on Eid day DNCC Commissioner Akter Hossain Bhuiyan inaugurated the cleaning drive at around 1.00pm Kakoli cattle market and Commissioner of DSCC Nazmul Islam inaugurated the operation at around 2.00pm near Nayabazar cattle market in the City on Wednesday.
Expressing satisfaction over the recent drive, Chief of wastes management department of DSCC Jabed Iqbal told banglanews, “Adequate measures have been taken to heighten the cleaning of wastes as soon as possible.”
He also said, “Due to inclement weather on Eid day, the cleaning drive will take some extra time and effort.
Jabed Iqbal expressed hope as they will manage to clean up wastes from the city within Thursday and urged city dwellers to call to their control room phone numbers if there is any misdeed in wastes management.
