DHAKA: A total of 40-kg gold was seized from toilet of a flight of Fly Dubai airlines at Shahjalal International Airport in the city on Tuesday.

Customs authorities and Airport Armed Police battalion (APBn) recovered the huge amount of gold worth about Tk 18 crore from the flight coming from Dubai at around 11:00pm.

Airport Customs Assistant Commissioner Wajed Ali said that the cleaners found the gold bars in a toilet of the flight when they entered there after the passengers got down.

The customs authority and APBn, however, seized huge gold bars recently from the Shahjalal International Airport.
