SIRAJGANJ: Two children drowned in a canal at Habibullahnagar union in Shahjadpur upazila of the district on Wednesday afternoon.

The deceased were identified Al-Amin, 7, son of Ismail Hossain and Sonali Khatun, 6, daughter of Tipu Mia of the area.

Sources said Al-Amin and Sonali were playing in the bank of a canal near their house. At one stage of playing, they drowned in the canal.

Officer-in-Charge of Shahjadpur Thana Hasan Shamim confirmed the matter to banglanews.
