BOGRA: A couple was electrocuted at Khihali Modhyapara village in Dupchanchia upazila of the district on Wednesday noon.

The deceased were identified as Jabed Ali Akand, 45, son of late Taleb Ali Akand, from Khihali Modhyapara village and his wife Komola Begum, 35.

Local sources said Jabeb Ali went to cut grass in the field near their house and he came in contact with an electric wire of a deep tube well and died on the spot.

Later, his wife Komola went in search of him. Watching her husband lying flat in the field, she tried to pull her up and was electrocuted, sources added.

Officer-in-Charge of Dupchachia Thana Riaz Uddin Ahmed confirmed the matter to banglanews.
