Kid dies from ‘wrong treatment’ in city

DHAKA: A minor died allegedly due to wrong treatment at Pedihope Hospital in capital’s Dhanmandi area on Thursday morning.

The deceased was identified as Arab Arian Chawdhury, 10-month old son of Senior Reporter Arifur Rahman of Dainik Amar Desh.

Following the matter, Arif told banglanews, “On Wednesday I admitted my son to Shishu Hospital. But some officials of the hospital advised me to take my son to Pedihope Hospital for Sick Children due to lack of ICU.”

Later, the victim was admitted to the Pedihope Hospital under the supervision of Professor Manjur Hossain though he was in abroad.

Arian was kept on life support at night. Later in the morning, physicians said his condition has deteriorated.

Later, Dr MA Hashem and Hospital’s director Dr Amir Sohel declared the kid dead.

Patients of the hospital said that four kids died due to negligence of authorities in last week.
