BRDB office set on fire amid section 144

BOGRA: Amid section 144, miscreants set fire at Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB) office under Nandigram Upazila of the district on Friday morning.

Sources said that a window was opened of BRDB office and miscreants set fire through the window in the office in between 5:00am and 5:30am.

On information, police rushed to the spot but could not say details about the fire incident.

Confirming the matter, Nandigram police station Officer-in-Charge Shahjahan Ali told banglanews, “The fire burnt to ashes some furniture and documents in two rooms.”

But police trying to find out the culprits and the criminals will be brought under dock, he added.

Earlier on Thursday, The district administration imposed section 144 at the district town to avert any violence as ruling Awami League and opposition BNP convened meeting at same time and venue.
