Ishwardi, PABNA: Local administration has imposed section 144 in Muladuli and Dasuria unions of the upazila Tuesday as BNP-led 18 party allicence and local Awami League convened rallies at the same venue and time.

The ban would be in effect from 7:00am to 6:00pm.

Confirming the matter, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) M Sanoar Hossain told banglanews that on the first day (Sunday) of 18-party called hartal, a local Jamaat activist, Zulfikar, was killed in a clash.

Protesting the death, 18-party declared to hold a protest-rally on Tuesday at Muladuli Bazar Rail Gate area. Local Awami League also declared to hold a rally here at the same time, reported banglanews correspondent.

UNO Sanoar added that local administration imposed section 144 in the area to thwart probable untoward situation.

Officer-in-Charge of Ishwardi Thana Biman Kumar Das told banglanews that additional police have been deployed here.
