DHAKA: Customs officials seized 5.5-kg gold from two Indian nationals from a flight of Etihad Airways on Saturday morning.

Besides, two Indians Dinesh Kumar Zain, 40 and Suresh Kumar Zain, 38 were detained for carrying smuggled gold.

Sources said that customs officials found six gold bars weighing 5.5 kilograms during searching two suspected Indian citizens coming from Dubai by a Dubai-Dhaka-Kolkata fight of Etihad Airways.

Confirming the matter, Airport Customs Assistant Commissioner Wazed Ali told banglanews, “A case will be filed with airport police station in this connection.”
