CHITTAGONG:  Miscreants chopped an activist of Jamaat-e-Islami to death in Shayerkhali Somity Bazar area under Mirsarai Upazila on Friday midnight.

The deceased was identified as Md Jasim Uddin, 30, son of Nurul Alam, of Shayerkhali area.

Locals said miscreants attacked Jasim while he was going to Dumkhali from Shayerkhali, leaving him injured critically.

Later, he died on the way to local hospital.

Sitakunda circle Assistant Sub-Inspector Syed Iqbal Ali told banglanews, “It is not clear who chopped him.

But local Jamaat blamed Chhatra League men for the killing.
