DINAJPUR: BNP-led 18-party alliance called dawn-to-dusk shutdown for Wednesday in the district protesting arrest and torture on party’s activists during weeklong blockade.

District BNP Organizing Secretary of Hasanuzzaman Uzzal made the announcement while addressing a rally in Nimnagar area on Tuesday evening.

Locals said earlier in the day police nabbed 12 activists of 18-party after a clash with police.
