Govt will sue Jamaat for war crimes

DHAKA: The Government is going to sue against Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami on charge of committing crimes during the country’s Liberation War in 1971.

International Crimes Tribunal Prosecutor Barrister Turin Afroz made the disclosure on Friday afternoon in a protest rally.

Gonojagoron Mancha organized the rally at capital’s Shahbagh, demanding stay of diplomatic relation with Pakistan.

Turin said, “We are going to sue Jamaat very soon as the party conducted mass killing in 1971.”

Pointing figure to Pakistan and Jamaat allies in abroad she said “You have to endure more verdicts as that will favour us.”
