AL leader killed in Jessore

JESSORE: A leader of ruling Awami League was killed in an attack by miscreants in the district town on Wednesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Nazrul Islam, 52, Jessore municipal ward no.1 Awami League general secretary, also the president of Jessore used tyre business association.

Witnesses said that miscreant fired four rounds bullet and hurled two bombs at the victim while he was staying in his business organization on Tuesday night, leaving him critically injured.

Later, he was rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at around 6:00am.

Jessore Kotwali Model police station Officer-in-Charge Emdadul Haque confirmed it to banglanews.

Jessore District Awami League General Secretary Shaheen Chaklader, also Sadar Upazila Parisad Chairman told banglanews, “Gang of top terror ‘Finge Liton’ patronized by BNP leader Tariqul Islam launched the attack.”
