Permanent Pay Commission soon, says Muhith

DHAKA: Finance Minister AMA Muhith on Wednesday categorically said the Permanent Pay Commission and Pay & Service Commission for the government officials and employees would be formed by November 15.

The finance minister came up with the disclosure while talking to journalists after a meeting with leaders of Audit and Accounts Officers’ Council at his secretariat office.

Muhith also said that deferent pay scale would be formed for Bangladesh Bank and other state-owned banks by this time.

The existing pay scale approved by the incumbent government in November 2009, has been in place since July 2009, with retrospective effect.

Salary of top-grade public officers was increased to Tk 40,000 from the previous Tk 23,000 and the salary of the lowest grade was increased to Tk 4,100 from Tk 2,400.
