DHAKA: Customs officials seized 20 gold bars weighing around 2.8-kg from a Dubai back Bangladeshi national’s on Wednesday morning.

Shahjalal Airport Customs Assistant Commissioner Quamrul Hasan told banglanews that Sohel Ahmed was held by customs officers as they found at least 20 gold bars with him.

Sohel reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by flight of Emirates Airlines on Wednesday morning.

On Tuesday night, Customs officials recovered 160 smuggled gold bars weighing around 20-kg at the toilet of a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines at the airport.
