DHAMRAI, DHAKA: Seven people including a woman were killed and 50 others injured in a triangular collision between two buses and a truck on Dhaka-Aricha highway in Joypura Bus Stand of Dhamrai upazila of the district on Wednesday evening.

The deceased were identified as Delwara, 50, Majid, 40 Majnu, 25, Aslam, 28, Moksed Ali, 32, Muntaj, 50 and driver of a bus Korban Ali, 37.

Sources said that a Saturia-bound bus collided head-on with another passenger bus in the area.

At the same time, a Dhamrai-bound sand-laden truck knocked the bus in front, leaving three people dead on the spot and 52 others injured, sources added.

The injured were rushed to Dhamrai Hospital, where two of them succumbed to their injuries.

Ten of the injured were sent to Dhaka Medical College, said duty doctor Sharmistha.

Officer-in-Charge of Dhamrai Thana Abdur Rashid confirmed the matter to banglanews.
