31 held in Benapole border

BENAPOLE: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel held 31 people including children, male and female from Putkhali area of Benapole frontier on Thursday evening.

All the detainees hailed from Jessore, Jhikargasa, Barisal and Magura districts.

Khulan BGB-23 Battalion Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Tayef-ul-Haque told banglanews, “Some 31 people were held from the area while trying to cross Bangladesh-India border without passport.”

Confirming the matter, Banapole Port police station Sub-Inspector Soyeb Ali told banglanews, “The detainees will be produced before a Jessore court.”
