HABIGANJ: A person was killed and some 30 others were injured in a clash over land property in Amrita village under Bahubal upazila of the district on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Siraj Mia, 25, son of Mokhles Mia, hailed from Amrita village.

The injured were admitted to Bahbal Upazila Health Complex.

Sources said supporters of Mojahidul Islam and Timu Mia locked into the clash with lethal weapons around 11:00am over long-standing dispute centering land property, leaving over 30 people injured.

Fatally injured Siraj Mia was rushed to Bahubal Upazila Health Complex where on duty doctor declared him dead, sources said.

On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, sources added.

Officer-in-Charge of Bahubal Model Thana Ohidul Islam (PPM) told banglanews that the clash erupted as a result of previous disputes. The situation is now under control, he added.
