BCL leader killed in Ctg

CHITTAGONG: A Chhatra League leader was slaughtered to death at Lohagara upazila in the port city early Monday.

The deceased was identified as Mahbubur Rahman Bappi, president of Baro Aulia College Chhatra League unit in the upazila.

Officer-in-Charge of Lohagara Thana Mohammad Shahjahan told banglanews: “On his way to Amirabad along with two of his friends Shibir activists halted Bappi’s rickshaw and held him while the two others managed to flee the scene.”

On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered Bappi’s slaughtered body.

He added: “We sent the body to Chittagong Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.”

Meanwhile, assistant police super AKM Imran Bhuiyan visited the spot and told banglanews that they were looking into the matter.
