FENI: A leader of Juba League was chopped dead by his rival group over establishing supremacy in Sonagazi upazila of the district early Wednesday. 

The deceased was identified as Jasin Uddin, 30, president of Chardarbesh union Ward-9 unit Juba League, youth unit of ruling Awami League.

Police, however, held five people for their alleged link in the killing. 

Sonagazi Model Thana Officer-in-charge Abu Zafar M Saleh said Jasim Uddin was murdered in a clash with rival group over establishing supremacy in the area.
