CHITTAGONG: The police department apprehends that some of banned militant outfits are being reorganized under the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra Shibir to commit subversive activities and violence across the country.

On information of intelligence departments, police forces across the country have been warned to beware of militant activities.

In this regard, Police headquarters on August 11 issued a special message to Chittagong Metropolitan Detective police, City’s Special Branch of police, Crime Wing and District Police Super.

Sources concerned said that in the name of protesting the incident in Gaza and China, various banned organizations are set to attack the key and sensitive establishments in the country including its capital and port city.

Confirming the matter, Deputy Commissioner of Metropolitan Detective Police Kushum Dewan told banglanews, “After receiving the alert message, additional security measures have been taken in important places.”

Chittagong Police Super AKM Hafiz Aktar said, “We remain alert about these elements to ensure the security and tackle any subversive activities.”

Wishing anonymity a police officer of Chittagong Metropolitan Police told banglanews, “There is a similarity between the activities of Jamaat-Shibir and other banned militant outfits. So there would be a connection between the organizations.”
