COMILLA: At least 12 people were injured in a clash between two groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League of Comilla University on Monday.

Sources said the clash, continued from 11:45pm to 2:30 am, ensued between groups of BCL convener Mahmudur Rahman Masum and BCL leader Ilias Hossain Sabuj.

Meanwhile, they attacked the students of Dhirendranath Hall of the university and opened fire at them.

During the hours-long clash, the conflicting groups traded at least 100 rounds of bullets, the sources added.

Later, Ilias group locked the main gate of the university around 10:00 am.

Sub-inspector (SI) Badrul of Sadar South Thana said to banglanews that the situation is now under control.
