LALMONIRHAT: Law enforcers on Monday arrested a leader of Patgram upazila unit Jamaat-e-Islami from Mirzar Court area of Patgram municipality.

The arrestee is Ataur Rahman, 45, district Jamaat Sura member, also former Ameer of Patgram upazila unit.

Officer-in-Charge of Patgram Thana Amiruzzaman told banglanews that acting on tip-off they had arrested fugitive Ataur Rahman from the aforesaid area.

There are five cases, including the murder of local Awami League leader Mintu, filed against him with the Thana, the OC added.

Assistant Superintendent of Police of Lalmonirhat Adibul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
