DHAKA: Shamsuzzaman Dudu, adviser to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, on Monday said his party won’t accept Sheikh Hasina as the chief of interim government in the general election of 2019.

He made the assertion while addressing a special discussion meeting, protesting filing false cases and giving charge sheets against BNP leaders and the National Broadcast Policy, organized by Dhaka Metropolitan South JASAS, at National Press Club.

Shamsuzzaman Dudu said, “We have no problems to compete in the elections as BNP is a democratic party. But we won’t accept Hasina as interim government’s chief.”

“We are ready to accept even the watchman of Sheikh Mujib’s mazar as the chief of interim government, but not Sheikh Hasina,” he added.

Senior BNP leader also criticised the National Broadcast Policy harshly saying “the government has composed the policy to destroy democracy in the country”.

He also demanded the abolition of the policy to save the country and democracy.

Dudu also termed the Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu “a Dangerous person”.

He also alleged that false cases were filed against the BNP leaders and demanded to withdraw these cases.

With Zahangir Sikder, president of Dhaka Metropolitan South JASAS, in the chair, among others, BNP standing committee member Rafiqul Islam Mia, assistant information and research affairs secretary Habibur Rahman Habib, JASAS president freedom fighter MA Malek, general secretary Monir Khan also spoke in the function.
