DHAKA: City Awami League leader Haji Mohammad Sayed sustained injuries in a gun attack by miscreants in front of his residence on Tuesday late night.

Haji Sayed is the general secretary of AL Sutrapur unit and also former commissioner of ward-79 (current 43).

He is now undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

DMCH emergency unit’s resident surgeon Riaz Morshed told banglanews that the injured is now out of danger. He was operated around 4:30am.

Earlier, the Al leader sustained injuries in a gun attack in front of his Kagojitola residence in Sutrapur around 10:30pm last night.

His political aide Zahid said us “Miscreants from a motorcycle fired gunshot targeting Haji Sayed in front of his house and fled away while we (he and the AL leader) were returning home by a motorcycle.”

The Awami League leader sustained bullet wounds in his hand, belly and the back, in this incident, he added.

However, confirming the matter, Sutrapur Thana duty officer Amanullah said that police neither got any clue nor detained anyone in this connection.
