DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Wednesday sent Zahidul Islam Tipu, general secretary of Motijheel Thana Awami League unit of the city, to jail in Juba League leader Milki murder case, denying bail plea.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Anwar Sadat passed the order upon completion of hearing after Tipu surrendered before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court on the day and sought bail.

Plaintiffs’ counsel Advocate Abdullah Al Monsur confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Abdullah said, “The investigation officer of the case sought a 10-day remand for Tipu and hearing on the remand petition will be held on August 23 in presence of the accused.”

On July 29, 2013 Juba League (South) organizing secretary Riazuddin Khan Milki was shot to death by miscreants in Gulshan area of the capital.
