FENI: A Noakhali court on Wednesday issued an arrest warrant against former Member of Parliament (MP) of Feni-2 constituency Joynal Hazari in a case filed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Justice Shirina Kabita Akhter of special tribunal of Noakhali issued the arrest warrant.

The arrest warrant order was first sent to Feni Senior Judicial Magistrate Khairul Amin and later it was sent to the Officer-in-Charge M Mahbub Morshed of Feni Model Thana.

Feni court sub-inspector (SI) Manun, confirming the matter to banglanews, said Hazari was earlier ordered to appear before the court on June 19 over a money laundering case. 

Later, the court passed the warrant order as Hazari failed to be present on that day.

The SI further said police would arrest him if he fails to appear before the court till October 19 though the other three accused were granted bail.
