Tofail slams BNP for tall-talks

DHAKA: Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Wednesday criticized Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) as the leaders of the party talk more over the incumbent government.

“The BNP has to remain with their art of speeches. The leaders and activists have become dejected as their party did not participate in the general election,” he said.

The ruling Awami League lawmaker made the remark when Australian Ambassador to Bangladesh Greg Wilcock met him at his secretariat office.

He also said BNP leaders and activists have become dejected as their party did not participate in the general election. “Now they have to be satisfied with their art of speeches,” he said.

Tofail further said, “The people of the country do not want any demonstration now. Only they (BNP) have to reinforce movement which will ultimately be devastating for them.”

He also said, “Mosrefa Mishu, through her interview to German Television, has demeaned the country. There will no labour and their leader if the garments sector dies out.”
