SYLHET: The law enforcers detained two leaders of Islami Chhatra Shibir, student wing of Jamaat-e-Islam, from Monsuria Point area under sadar upazila of the district on Thursday noon.

The detainees are Rashid Ahmed, president of Kanaighat upazila Chhatra Shibir and Mashuk Ahmed Jubayer, president of the party’s Kanaighat Degree College unit.

Police had arrest warrant against Rashid Ahmed, who is accused of killing.

Rashid was sent to the court immediate after the arrest.

Police sources said that acting on a tip-off, a team of law enforcers conducted a drive and nabbed the duo in the noon.

Officer-in-Charge of Kanaighat police station Abdul Awal Chowdhury confirmed the matter to banglanews.
