CHITTAGONG: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Vice chairman Abdullah-al-Noman on Friday remarks that the people of the country are the main strength of the party, not the bullets.

Former minister made the comments while addressing a meeting as a chief guest in city’s Halishahar area in the afternoon. 

Halishahar ward BNP arranged the meeting marking 22nd death anniversary of Chattra Dal leader Sazzad Ali Kochi, Md Nazmul and Khorshed Alam.

Noman also said, “Ershad was ousted from power in the face of public movement though he had the strength of police, bullet and canon. Like Ershad, the incumbent Awami League (AL) led government also will be ousted very soon.”

He also threatened that they would stage demonstrations and meetings without taking permissions from the government.

Mosharraf Jamal presided over the meeting.
