KHULNA: Religious affairs secretary of Khulna district unit BNP Md Nazrul Islam Morol has been traced in Cox’s Bazar 19 days after he allegedly went missing in March, said police.

On information, a police team is going to Ramu of Cox’s Bazar, said Dumuria Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Habil Hossain Thursday morning (April 5). 

“The OC informed us that my father is alive and staying in Ramu. We are waiting for his returning,” said Oheduzzman, son of the BNP leader.

Nazrul reportedly went missing from Mongolkot area under Keshabpur upazila of Jessore, where he went to visit a doctor on March 17, leaving his Dumuria residence.

His wife Tanzila Begum filed a General Diary (GD) with Dumuria Police Station, at the night. 

The family and BNP leaders and activists have been accusing that Nazrul was made forcefully disappeared and law enforcers are involve regarding this.

Police said the allegation baseless and launched drive to trace Nazrul.
