DHAKA: Slamming BNP and all other quarters for their heaps of criticism over the recently announced national budget for the Fiscal Year 2018-19, Awami League Publicity & Secretary Hasan Mahmud said all the budgets made during the Awami League regimes were implemented up to more than 95 percent.

“The critics and the BNP said after the announcements of budgets each time that this budget isn’t fit to be implemented, but an ambitious one. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina implemented that very nine ‘ambitious’ budgets,” he said.

Hasan was addressing a discussion titled ‘Historic June 7th and Budget of Development’, organized by Bangladesh Swadhinota Parishad, at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU), on Saturday (June 9).

“The rate of Awami League’s budget implementation is multiple times higher than that of the preceding governments and the persons who criticize,” added Hasan.

Food Minister Qamrul Islam also attended the discussion.
