No good news from Gazipur: BNP Ruhul Kabir Rizvi in the briefing

DHAKA: BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said whatever news is coming from Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) polls is not at all satisfactory.

His comments came at a briefing arranged at BNP’s central party office in city’s Nayapaltan area on Tuesday (June 26).

Rizvi said, “So far we have got reports of irregularities from around 100 polling stations. We see a reflection of our misgiving has just manifested.”

After blaming Election Commission (EC) for not keeping its word, Rizvi said, “Chief Election Commissioner said there would be no repetition of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) style polls. But, he (CFC) fails to remain true to his words. He just treaded along the path set by government.”

Rizvi alleged that agents of paddy sheaf were obstructed entry to different polling stations. Some agents were driven out of polling stations, while some even were arrested.

Rizvi also alleged that BNP executive committee member Major (retd) Mizanur Rahman was taken from his Gulshan residence by Rapid Action Battalion, at 3am, on Tuesday (June 26).
He even showed a video how Mizanur Rahman was detained
