Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has been released from hospital and returned home after undergoing treatment in Dhaka.
He was discharged from United Hospital on Wednesday (August 20) afternoon, BNP sources confirmed.
He was taken to United Hospital in the capital at around 1 am on Wednesday after feeling unwell.
Earlier that same evening, he had returned from Thailand following medical treatment abroad and later attended a meeting at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan. He was taken to hospital after falling ill during the meeting.
BNP Standing Committee member Dr AZM Zahid Hossain accompanied him to the hospital.
Doctors at United Hospital said on Wednesday morning that the BNP secretary general’s condition was stable and that he had recovered sufficiently to return home.
