DHAKA: BNP is set to stage demonstration on Saturday (July 7) demanding “proper treatment” and “unconditional release” of its Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
Earlier, demonstration was scheduled to mount today.
BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the program at a press briefing held in city’s Nayapaltan party office, at 11:30 am, on Thursday (July 5).
Rizvi requested all party leaders and supporters to gather in front of Nayapaltan party office at 2 pm.
“Request for today’s demonstration was turned down for couple of times by Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP),” Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said.
On July 9, BNP will observe symbolic hunger strike countrywide, beginning from 9 am to 4 pm.
Meanwhile, BNP has asked permission for holding the programs on two separate venues.
