GAIBANDHA: A Jubo League leader was killed in a clash with Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) men over establishing supremacy in Saghata upazila of Gaibandha on Thursday evening (July 5).

The deceased was identified as Mukul Mia, 25, son of one Mozam Mia of Shimultair village of the upazila. 

Bonarpara police outpost in-charge Azizul Islam told Banglanews that the groups of BNL leader Asadul Islam and Jubo League leader were engaged in a clash at evening over establishing supremacy in the area. At one point, Mukul Mia was hacked dead by rivals and three others were injured. 

The matter is being investigated and perpetrators will be brought to justice, he added.
