DHAKA: BNP announced that it will to hold demonstration at thanas in Dhaka city on Sunday (July 8) protesting the denial of police permission for holding a pre-scheduled rally demanding unconditional release of the party’s imprisoned chairperson Khaleda Zia.

BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made the announcement at the party’s Naya Paltan central office on Friday (July 6). 

Rizvi said Dhaka Metropolitan Police did not give permission to hold rally on Saturday in front of the party central office at Nayapaltan for Khaleda’s release and her proper treatment. So I am urging party leaders and activists to stage demonstration at thana level. 

Moreover, the pre-scheduled token hunger strike will be held on July 9 as permission for that program was not granted alto till Friday.
