DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Sunday (July 8) placed Rashed Khan, a leader of the quota reform movement, into a fresh 10-day remand in two cases.
Additional metropolitan magistrate Asaduzzaman Nur granted the remand after police produced Rashed before court seeking 20 day remand.
One of the cases against Rashed was filed under ICT Act for posting derogatory post against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Another case was filed over vandalizing in DU VC residence.
Earlier on July 2, A Dhaka court placed Rashed Khan, a leader of the quota reform movement, into five remand in the ICT case.
On Sunday (July 1), Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested Rashed Khan, a leader of the quota reform movement and joint convener of Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Adhikar Sangrakkhan Parishad, from Mirpur area of Dhaka.
