DHAKA: BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi alleged that conspiracy is being hatched to kick BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia out of politics forever by jeopardizing her life. 

The senior BNP leader made this remark in response to Home Minister’s speech on Khaleda Zia’s health conditions at city’s party office in Nayapaltan area on Tuesday (July 17).

Earlier in the day, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, “Nothing serious happened to Khaleda Zia to the extent BNP leaders and activists are raising an issue about her illness. She is not even afflicted with any new disease. Doctors are concerned about Khaleda’s old diseases.” 

The home minister was not specific whether Khaleda Zia would be taken to United Hospital or are there any complications to this matter. Earlier government said that Khaleda’s treatment in private hospital not possible as per jail code.

In that context, Rizvi raised questions, “How come PM Sheikh Hasina took treatment in city’s Square Hospital when she was in prison? How come the other senior Awami League leaders were treated at city’s Labaid or BIRDEM hospitals?”
